How to Apply for a Habitat for Humanity House

We are glad that you are interested in owning your own home.
Habitat for Humanity of Nacogdoches chooses its homeowners based on three criteria:
- Need for adequate shelter
- Ability to pay
- Willingness to partner
(Neither race nor religion is a factor in the application process for families who are accepted into the Habitat program.)
If you can say “YES” to all of the questions below, you might qualify to purchase a Habitat home:
- Are you a legal resident of or worked in Nacogdoches County for at least one year? YES/NO
- Are you currently living in substandard housing? YES/NO
- Are you willing to partner with Habitat to help build your home and other Habitat homes? YES/NO
- Can you prove consistent, stable income for the past 24 months or more? YES/NO
- Will you allow Habitat to run credit, sexual offender and criminal background checks on you? YES/NO
- Do you earn 30%-60% of the median income of Nacogdoches Residents? YES/NO (Please see chart below for reference.)
